Construções antigas deram espaço para novos prédios e aos poucos vai se apagando da memória tempos remotos onde haviam conversas e reuniões em praças, armazéns e bares. No centro da cidade, há alguns dias, foi demolido um edifício que por muitos anos foi o endereço de um dos tradicionais comércios. A Casa Santa Rita, lar dos idosos, não tem cem anos ainda, mas os feitos de sua idealizadora perpetuarão na história. A Casa Falci (1892), será tema na próxima edição como um outro edifício que poderia ser considerado como patrimônio histórico. Restam poucos prédios sobreviventes ao progresso e um deles visado para abrigar um museu ou a Casa da Cultura.
Fórum de Ibiúna
Construído em 1896, na administração de Fortunato Vieira de Camargo (Fortunatinho), presidente da Câmara e prefeito intendente do município, este prédio abrigou por anos a cadeia pública e a partir de 1963 passou a funcionar como Fórum da Comarca de Ibiúna.
Cogitou-se de transformá-lo em Casa da Cultura com a possibilidade de construção de novas instalações para os trabalhos forenses. O fórum não suporta mais a demanda dos processos e sua estrutura está inadequada para as audiências.
Bem no centro da cidade, seria um grande atrativo da Estância Turística de Ibiúna, pois suas salas poderiam ser usadas para oficinas de arte e o espaço poderia inclusive virar um museu histórico. Enquanto não há verba para dar andamento a esta mudança, a arte vira enfeite do jardim. Aos sábados, a praça do fórum recebe alguns artesãos da cidade expondo seus trabalhos na feira de artesanato.
Dia 12/08, das 12h às 13h30, haverá música ao vivo com artistas locais interpretando MPB em comemoração ao Dia dos Pais.
Casa Santa Rita
A instituição Casa Santa Rita iniciou suas atividades em 1948 com Dona Nazária Cipriano de Freitas. A sede própria só foi construída em 1964, com muita luta e doações.
A filantropia de Dona Nazária começou abrigando uma senhora paralítica e suas filhas que se encontravam em condições desumanas. Com a colaboração das pessoas da cidade foram feitas campanhas para arrecadar material para a fabricação de camas, mesas e armários, bem como compra de cobertores e roupas entregues aos abrigados no rancho desocupado de D. Tereza. Algumas famílias se revezavam na doação diária de marmitex.
Em 29 de julho de 1948, Dona Nazária fundou a Casa Santa Rita, em homenagem à padroeira dos casos desesperados e impossíveis, dando-lhe este nome para que ela nunca fechasse suas portas. A notícia se espalhou rapidamente e em quinze dias já havia sete pessoas abrigadas. As pessoas sabendo que Dona Nazária se propôs a ajudar os mais necessitados, um fato inédito na época, se mobilizaram e os abrigados foram para uma casa maior e mais confortável na rua XV de novembro.
Depois de treze anos funcionando em uma casa alugada, conseguiu comprar um terreno e nele, seu irmão Lázaro Cipriano de Freitas, Luiz Cirilo de Freitas, Alfredo Rolim Soares e Antonio Sandroni, construíram a sede própria na rua Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, com o auxílio da população e de políticos influentes como Ulisses Guimarães, Laudo Natel e Franco Montoro.
De 1964 a 1974 a Casa funcionou também como Hospital, mas devido a grandes dificuldades para mantê-lo, voltou a ser somente Asilo para abrigar idosos e pessoas doentes a partir de maio de 1974, atividade que desempenha até hoje.
Dona Nazária faleceu em um acidente de ônibus em 28 de março de 1984, quando voltava de uma viagem a Barretos. Dedicou trinta e seis anos às obras assistenciais. Com sua morte, Antonio Sandroni administrou o asilo e encontrou na família Marcicano o apoio para dar continuidade à entidade. Desde então, o jantar italiano em prol à Casa Santa Rita virou tradição desde 1986.
A Casa de Santa Rita é uma entidade assistencial de caráter filantrópico, que abriga atualmente quarenta e cinco pessoas com doenças crônicas e deficientes físicos, que precisam de cuidados especiais.
